I don't watch Miss America anymore but happened to be channel surfing and caught the last 15 minutes of the show Sunday evening on NBC. I read the news the next day about a judge's question to Miss California. (BTW, when I saw her parading around I thought she looked like the next Miss USA). For those that are interested it's here: Miss CaliforniaSo that question was: Question of gay marriage with Vermont ratifying it recently through that state's legislature. Should it be legalized? Why or Why Not? Her answer suggested to me that it's nice to have choices (that we live in a land that allows that). But she thinks that marriage is between a man and a woman because the bible says so as the authoritative source. So, while Americans have a right to choose she thinks they shouldn't be allowed to choose because the bible says so? And if it was up to her she wouldn't legalize it? First of all America wasn't founded on Christianity. Secondly why does she feel she has the right to choose for others? She said we are all free to choose! Anyone care to discuss this?

It's her opinion nothing more, and the question was asked by Perez Hilton who is a shame in his own race. Nothing one girl will say will affect anything, and when I become the next president of the US I will make gay marriage legal.

Authoritative source to whom? I don't remember reading anywhere that America was based on the bible instead of the CONSTITUTION. America has Freedom of Religion (Amendment 1), so why should the government be so heavily influenced by this one religion?
