This will be spoilerish, for all ya'll who don't want to be spoiled on the latest.
I don't watch AMC, but I have been following the storyline between Reese and Bianca on AfterEllen.com, and I'm familiar with Bianca's previous storylines.
I am completely and utterly annoyed by the direction this has taken. I should have known (and in some capacity, was expecting) that the wedding, the first lesbian wedding on television, would go downhill somehow, but I thought the AMC writers would have more decency when dealing with the, may I repeat, first lesbian wedding on television, than to have one of the characters kiss a guy the night before, hide it from her partner, and then upon finding out, the other woman asking for an immediate annulment and moving their children to France. (Reese kissed Zach, btw).
People had a feeling that the wedding was going to go south, but I was holding on to that little piece of hope that told me that they wouldn't ruin it, at least not in the same episode where they got married! They had to write off Bianca and Reese somehow (as both actresses are leaving the show), but they could have done better than this. Having both move their family back to Paris, happy and all, might have been a little amiss in the spirit of the soap opera, but they had a real chance to do something great for the GLBTQ community by showing a normal lesbian wedding and just leave it alone.
I still can't get over the fact that they had to throw that wrench in there, even for a soap opera.
